“Bethany House gave me a place to get my start. They cared for my kids and gave them a safe place to live and grow. The staff provide you with a plan for success and if you’re willing to put in the work, they won’t let you fail. New to parenthood, I didn’t know where to begin. Bethany House has shown me how to raise my children. ”

Mary, a former resident, remembers when she was first met the staff at Bethany House. “I was dropped off at the back of Bethany House, with nowhere to go and basically homeless. They helped me in so many ways.”
Over the next several months, Danielle Elkins, Program Director and her staff helped Mary to obtain her birth certificate, social security card, SNAP benefits and Medicaid. “One of the most important skills I learned was financial responsibility. After I found work and had income, they helped me save so that I could get a place to live. These wonderful people supported me by helping me with whatever I needed to move forward in my goals."
In FY25, the Bethany House welcomed 41 residents into its emergency shelter. Of these residents 12 were children who, along with their families, received temporary housing, food and clothing. Of those 41 individuals, 20 transitioned to permanent housing and 12 adults found employment while residing at Bethany House. This would not have been possible without the support of our devoted staff, volunteers, and supporters.
